Description

Step aboard The Long Boat, a beautifully presented 55ft traditional narrowboat offering a fresh, modern interior and a practical layout designed for comfortable life on the waterways. Built in 2011 and redecorated internally in 2026, she benefits from a host of recent improvements, including a brand-new sofa and mattress, giving the interior a bright, open-plan feel with an almost-as-new finish.

At 55ft, The Long Boat offers a versatile length for exploring the canal network, while her well-considered accommodation sleeps two comfortably, with additional sleeping for two available thanks to the convertible L-shaped dinette.

The saloon provides a welcoming space to relax, featuring a smart TV, a Morso Squirrel stove in as-new condition and a brand-new sofa. Two glazed hardwood doors open onto the cratch-covered well deck, creating a lovely connection between the interior and the outdoors.

The well-equipped galley combines practicality with traditional charm, featuring solid wood worktops, a stainless-steel sink with mixer tap, a 12V fridge with freezer box, a four-burner hob and a separate integrated oven and grill. A generous selection of cupboards and drawers ensures there is plenty of storage for everyday essentials.

Moving through the boat, the fully upholstered L-shaped dinette offers a comfortable place for meals, with useful storage beneath the seating. When required, it converts into an additional double bed, increasing the boat's accommodation to four berths.

The utility area provides access to the engine compartment, Morse controller and main electrics, alongside valuable storage space for cruising equipment, coats and boots. A secure hardwood door leads through to the bedroom, where a full-size double bed with storage beneath is complemented by an extra-large wardrobe and further storage options.

The off-corridor bathroom is fitted with a full-size shower enclosure with glazed door, a wash basin over a vanity unit and a cassette toilet, supplied with a spare cassette. Additional storage completes this practical space.

Further enhancing her appeal, the engine and gearbox have been serviced, and the engine room has been repainted. The hull was freshly blacked in October 2026, and a brand-new Eberspächer Hydronic S3 D4 heating system was fitted in the same month. The Long Boat will also be sold with a new Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) certificate.

With her refreshed interior, comfortable accommodation and significant recent investment in maintenance and equipment, The Long Boat presents an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking a well-equipped narrowboat ready for new adventures on the waterways.
