Description

Cloelia is a beautifully presented 52ft traditional stern narrowboat, built by G & J Reeves and fitted out by Crown Narrowboats in 2001. Thoughtfully updated and well equipped, she combines classic narrowboat character with a range of practical modern improvements, making her a comfortable and inviting boat for cruising and extended stays aboard.

The exterior has been completely repainted, while the hull was blacked in September 2025 with bitumen, receiving three coats overall and an additional five coats along the waterline. Spray-foam insulation, Webasto central heating and a 5kW multi-fuel stove provide comfort throughout the year, while inspection hatches offer convenient access for maintenance.

Entering from the stern, the bedroom provides a comfortable fitted double bed with a memory-foam mattress, generous under-bed storage drawers, a dressing table with mirror and hidden seat, overhead storage and one-and-a-half wardrobes. Moving forward is the well-appointed bathroom, featuring a vanity sink, cassette toilet and full-size shower with bi-folding door. Floor-to-ceiling shelving, a bathroom cabinet and large mirror with overhead lighting provide useful storage and finishing touches.

The galley has been thoughtfully updated with quartz worktops and offers excellent storage. It includes a gas oven, 240V fridge with icebox, stainless steel sink and drainer, sliding window and swan hatch. A particularly useful feature is the under-floor pantry and wine cellar, making clever use of otherwise unused space.

The saloon is a welcoming space designed for relaxing and entertaining. A 5kW multi-fuel stove creates a cosy focal point, while the two-seater sofa can be repositioned across the width of the boat to create the perfect setup for movie nights. A ceiling-mounted TV pulls down when required, and the fold-out dining table has hidden stools neatly stored beneath the breakfast bar. There are also 12V USB points, a corner unit and useful storage throughout.

A large double-doored storage cupboard in the hallway provides additional practical storage, helping to keep the living areas uncluttered.

The engine room is neatly arranged and provides good access to the engine, together with useful shoe storage and USB points. The boat is fitted with a 1500W inverter, Victron galvanic isolator, four 110Ah leisure batteries and a starter battery. At the stern, lift-up access provides straightforward access to the weed hatch and stern gland.

With her traditional styling, extensive storage, thoughtful interior improvements and comprehensive equipment, Cloelia offers a well-balanced combination of character, comfort and practicality. Her spacious 52ft layout makes excellent use of the available space, with accommodation arranged from stern to bow as bedroom, bathroom, galley and lounge.
