Description
Katie Jane is a 35ft cruiser stern narrowboat built by Hallmark Narrowboats in 1997, offering a genuine project opportunity for someone looking to create their own boat from the ground up.
The boat has been completely stripped back to a very empty shell, with the interior removed ready for a full rebuild. This means there is plenty of scope for a new owner to design the layout and finish exactly to their own requirements, but buyers should be aware that this is a major refurbishment project and will require significant work to complete.
Some of the preparation has already been carried out. The interior has been stripped back to bare metal and rust treated, while the bilge has been painted with marine-grade PAC epoxy. A marine plywood floor base has been fitted, with wooden flooring laid on top. The 12v and 240v wiring has also been replaced, providing a starting point for the electrical installation.
Katie Jane is powered by a Vetus M204 two-cylinder engine and gearbox, last serviced in July 2025. The boat has a 6mm hull and was last blacked with bitumen in July 2024. A survey was carried out in September 2024.
The boat has a cruiser stern with stern cover, a cassette toilet, shoreline 240v supply and 12v electrical system. Cabin heating is provided by a wood-burning stove.
