Description

Time No 1 is a beautifully characterful 59ft traditional narrowboat, built in 1989 with a quality hull by Les Allen and a thoughtful fit-out by Philip Gamson. Full of traditional charm, she combines a classic layout with comfortable accommodation for up to four, making her an ideal choice for extended cruising, longer stays afloat or liveaboard use.

Stepping aboard, the traditional boatman’s cabin provides a wonderful glimpse into classic narrowboat design, complete with a small cross-bed, painted detailing and extensive built-in storage for ropes and cruising equipment. Moving forward, the fixed double bedroom offers a comfortable retreat with storage beneath the bed, built-in shelving, wardrobe space and an opening roof light providing natural light and ventilation.

The bathroom is well equipped with a full-height shower, thermostatic mixer, drop-through pump-out toilet, washbasin set into a vanity unit, mirror and useful airing cupboard. A radiator provides additional comfort.

The galley has a warm, traditional feel, featuring wooden worktops, painted timber cupboards and drawers, a Butler’s sink with chrome mixer taps and a freestanding gas cooker with four-burner hob, oven and grill. A full-size 12v Inlander fridge, wine rack, glazed storage cabinets and rooflight add practicality and character.

The central dinette provides a versatile space for dining and entertaining, with an L-shaped seating area converting into a double berth. Double-glazed windows and a side hatch allow plenty of natural light into the space, while storage beneath the seating keeps everything neatly tucked away.

Further forward, the welcoming saloon offers shelving, a multi-fuel stove and side hatch, creating a cosy space to relax after a day cruising the waterways. Large windows throughout the boat help create a light and inviting interior while retaining its traditional character.

Powered by a Russell Newbury DM3 engine with Parsons gearbox, Time No 1 offers a classic boating experience with plenty of character and practical accommodation.

With her quality heritage, traditional boatman’s cabin, flexible 2 + 2 berth accommodation and generous storage, Time No 1 is a charming and versatile narrowboat ready for her next adventure.
